The actor , whose most famous work was the film " Fast and Furious" franchise, is survived by his daughter, Meadow , 15 .
According to his Facebook page , which confirmed the death , Walker was co-pilot in a car driven by a friend , who lost control .
"We appreciate your patience , as we are also surprised , sad and can not believe the news . Thanks for having his family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time ," read the social network .
The Californian was at a charity event for your organization , Reach Out Worldwide , and according to reports from the fire department vehicle was struck between a light pole and a tree , then burst.
Both passengers died instantly, around 3:30 pm local time.
